Meanwhile, back at HPI

Takashi Inkpen
Life is going on. The landing zone has been moved. There is a cozy place for couples by the beach. Some other things have been changed. It's still as lovely as ever.

Yesterday and today, I had some free time and I wandered a bit. I am looking for a job, with little success. While I was at Virtual Horizons, a man who thought I worked there IMed me desperately seeking a job. He had been in SL for 4 hours and was desperate for a job! I gently explained to him he doesn't need a job right now. He seemed frantic about everything, even asking me, "what do I do next?" I took him to HPI and showed him the freebie shop. We chatted while he shopped and he dressed himself in nice pants and shirt with a tie. After that, he seemed relieved. I gave him LMs to freebies and camping and I scooted off to help someone else.

I went to Shin Tao yesterday and got some great pics. They had a play and Kabuki dancers. I walked around for a bit in between and got aerial photos. I ran into Green Ivanovic there and he was telling me about the music and instrument. Even there, I was IMed by jimmie (did I like country music?), Jo (just checking in) and Sabreman (obsessing about poetry). Stacy IMed me and mentioned she was at an HPI party, so I asked her to TP me. We danced and IMed for awhile. Notty asked me if I would like to write some articles about HPI for a magazine; I was so excited.

Of course, during this time, I ran into some old friends like Takashi. It's rare to find him looking so human. And, I met some new ones. I tried to smooth over a little tiff between an apprentice and a visitor. I don't know how that will come out.

I'll still in the Jane Austin book club and it looks like I am the main host now, which is okay. I have to be prepared every week with readings and questions to discuss. It gets me reading again. Speaking of reading, I am also in the middle of Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. If you can, read it. I can hardly put it down. His writing style draws you in and he has some entertaining and amusing tails woven into the serious parts. I also bought Blink and the Tipping Point to read on vacation next week.

I have managed to get some laundry done, but that's about it. BAD GIRL!
