My daughter, who is American, is all of 5'2" and weighs about 98 pounds. You can blow her over with a breeze. She is very soft-spoken and doesn't lie. She carries a laptop with a tablet, books and five changes of clothing. She is an artist. She has a valid passport. She is going to stay with her friend, Kit, and Kit's family. Is this so abnormal?
Now she is being held in detention at Heathrow, until they can verify her "story."
Please explain this to me. Is it so incredulous that anyone would want to visit London? I can only guess that the more innocent you look, the more likely you will be held for being suspicious. Perhaps you just don't like Americans?
My boyfriend is American and had this too. I have a feeling it's because of the economy in the US getting so bad.... It seems like the Brits are starting to suspect that a lot of Americans are trying to come into Europe to stay and work. Just my theory :)
