I don't know how this happened -- I got stuck crawling while I was exploring with Jo last night. If there is such a thing as the post-TV generation, then I have joined it. I have no use for TV except to watch Get Smart episodes on DVD with my kids. I did like the History Channel and true crime like Forensic Files and such, but after I found SL, facebook, Twitter, Flickr and blogging, I seemed not to miss TV. It is rarely on in our house now.
This morning I was wondering why people bother with TV. It's very expensive from Time Warner, if you want to get any interesting programs. Most of the time I found nothing I wanted to watch, even with over 100 channels. It was good at putting me to sleep, particularly when I was ill.
After I accidentally found an article that mentioned SL in a magazine while I was waiting for the doctor, I wrote the tiniest note to myself to check it out. I didn't look for it for a few months, but I found the note while I was browsing my sketchbook and finally visited. A few weeks later, I decided to try blogging about it. I heard of Flickr and I learned how to improve my inworld photos from Zillow Dejavu, my editor at Second Chick. Not long after that, my social media got out of hand. Now, I have five blogs, including a couple secret ones and not including the blogging I do for others, like AFK. I have two Twitter accounts, Se7en's and a personal one. I have four Flickrs, including a secret one and a personal one. I'm on Blogger and Wordpress, and I tried to start a Tumblr blog, but it got neglected. facebook has been a bit of a challenge for me, as I like to say whatever I want and I have to be very careful there. Se7en is on LinkedIn, but I don't have a personal account, and that is quite neglected.
Currently, my only paying job is with AFK. I have a difficult time writing an article per week, with all the other writing and adventuring beyond my RL job and family. I have a book project I'm working on, as well. So, if you don't see me inworld, it only means I have immersed myself in something else for the moment.
