Things I Hate in SL
Women's shoes...are made for amazons and the heels are so high as to be ridiculous. There are no nice-looking flat ones. I wear "chucks" most of the time.
Shopping...is so lagged and I rarely find anything I like. It wastes so much time.
Finding children...real children are wandering the grid. Occasionally, I find one who admits being underage. Most of the time, it's not from a lack of supervision, but last week I found a 12-year-old who was under the guardianship of his older brother because one parent had died and the other had run away. That's the saddest case I've found so far.
Not having a dance partner...is depressing. Since Amakusa rarely comes inworld and is typically in metabolt, we can't go dancing. Dancing has been one of the most fun amusements in SL. And I don't like dancing with strangers. They think the next step is virtual sex and become enraged when I refuse.
My Favorite Places
Help People Island
Savoy Jazz Club
Bookstacks
Da Vinci
Lost Gardens of Apollo
Most Important Things I've Learned
Who I am
How to stand up for myself
Things are not always as they seem
Go with your intuition; it is right
I was reminiscing at the Savoy tonight. Lately, I have been thinking on my year in SL. It is truly bittersweet. I've seen friends come and go-that's the hardest. As in RL, I am surrounded by my small group of my dearest friends. I confess SL has spilled over into RL where it concerns friends like Rosemary, Lost, Cliff and Amakusa.
There are still plenty of new things to learn and do.
