Okay, I know what you're thinking...I'm nuts, right? Asking you about your socks, how you make coffee and what you're eating for breakfast...but remember as recently as the past weekend I was mentioning how my curiosity can get me into trouble. Not today though.
The fun part is I never know what you will say. I asked Amakusa about his socks. He was incredulous. "Calcetines?" he kept saying. I found out what size he wears (he misunderstood the question), what color they are and what they are made of. Then, I asked him about his gloves and whether he wears Polartec or woobie.
This morning when I woke up at 4 am, I found andree (he is Portuguese) was in-world and we started talking about coffee and tea. "How do you make your coffee, drip or perk or what?" I asked him. He explained what I will call the "andree method" of making coffee. First, he puts a bit of sugar in the cup and lots of coffee (I am guessing instant). He likes the coffee strong. He puts a bit of hot water in the cup and mixes it into a paste. Then, he fills the cup with hot water and stirs it until it's frothy like espresso. Sounds yummy, eh?
He ate some melon that I have never heard of; it's yellow on the outside and green on the inside. He decided it's melo. After he ate a peach, he went next door to the bakery to get "cake." "Cake for breakfast?" I asked him, the mom in me coming out. What he described sounded like a Danish. We continued to describe our favorite foods until I had to get ready for work.
