Open Mouth...Insert Foot

I believe I may have totally misjudged rohit. And I will take full blame for it instead of making excuses. Unless I am misreading him again, I have found him to be a gentle, harmless person although probably not a native English speaker. A few days ago, I IMed him because his shoes were messed up; he had not put the "shoe base" on. I remember what trouble I had in the beginning when I tried to get my shoes to look right. I didn't know you had to put the base on. So I didn't want him to go around like that, looking...uh, goofy.

After I told him about his shoes and he had fixed them, we were talking and finally I asked him, "you don't remember me?" He had no clue, said he was playing a trick on his friend. I scolded him for doing it in the women's dressing room, explaining that there are some very modest ladies around like Noorah. He said he wouldn't go there again. He actually took the scolding very well and he IMs me regularly.

What impressed me about him is he talks to one person at a time and doesn't notice anyone else. Maybe he doesn't understand the concept of local chat or maybe he is only able to focus on one thing at a time. I have talked to him several times and watched him in action. He doesn't purposely try to cause trouble, but he lacks understanding of what is acceptable behavior and what is inappropriate. Hmm...maybe he's a teenage boy who snuck in.

On another front, there is vinny. I met him around the time I was born and he has always been totally honest. I really appreciate that about him, even though he is blunt most of the time. It is refreshing after having men who seem very nice suddenly change into sex-crazed jerks. There is a gentleness to him that makes up for his bluntness. And now I know he doesn't intend to hurt me, we can joke about our differences.

In this amusement park, there were "walk as a couple" poseballs. I convinced him to try it; men always walk too fast and lose me. Or I walk too slow. "You want me," he tells me. "lol," I say. Whether I do or not, he knows it's not happening. We have a good time until he wanders off to find a girl who will.
