Chasing the Linden

jp and I ran into each other last night while he was following a trail of traffic cones through SL. He had changed his look a bit so I wouldn't have recognized him if not for his name tag. He asked me if I wanted to go with him and, as I'm always ready for an adventure, I said yes. He teleported me to a house-like place with the characteristic striped cone in the middle of the "living room." We had to stay there for eleven (Eleven!) minutes to get lindens from the cone. I looked for something to amuse myself so I opened my inventory to gestures and tried some out. First I tried "cry." jp stopped exploring and said, "were you crying?" Gee, I guess he was paying attention to me! I thought he was pretty oblivious (no offense jp; sometimes it's hard to tell in SL). I told him what I was doing and then I tried "lookin' good," to which we both lol'd. I opened my dance animations and skipped all the bellydance moves, going immediately to "crazy dance." "Are you dancing?" he asked. "How?" After I explained, he asked for some and I dropped several on him. The music was medieval (literally) making crazy dance very silly-looking.

While I was dancing (to rap this time) around the next traffic cone stop, jp invited his girl to join us. She is what Rainman would call very sparkly and is very nice as well. When my swing wouldn't operate, she offered hers. He IMed me to ask if I liked her. I told him "of course" I liked her. Gorgeous and nice; what's not to like? We went to the beach next and I told jp to go on and have fun with her. He was worried about us staying friends, but I told him I would always be around for him. Satisfied with that answer, he ran off to play.

The traffic cone game was pretty annoying to me; I don't care that much for getting lindens.
I have been alerted to several jobs, usually involving club work. That's not for me, but it seems to be a main type of job. You don't need to have lindens to have fun, though. I don't care about owning land and I'm happy with my stock of plaid clothes.
